Welcome to the Ce-Des e. V. website!

The Center for Desalination Research and Capacity Building e.V. (Ce-Des) was founded at 31.10.2005 in Duisburg.

The aim of the foundation is to bundle the existing know-how in the field of water desalination and to establish a research-, transfer- and training-center. The detailed layout is put into a policy paper that can be downloaded in form of a pdf-file in the “Documents” section.

Since the second half of 2006 a technical pilot plant that is funded by the project executing organisation FZ Karlsruhe, field of water technology and disposal as well as organisational headquarters, partly funded by the MIWFT-NRW, are established in Duisburg Rheinhausen.

Companies like consulting offices, suppliers, assemblers or subcontractors have the opportunity here to develop or optimise their products or crafts with competent support.

Furthermore Ce-Des offers enterprisers to support them with the design, the setting and the realisation of new ideas as well as the formulation and processing of a research or economic funding application. In addition the technical plant can be used to realise tests and trials for research and development projects. The relevant desalination techniques, displayed in the technical plant, as well as the most important pre-treatment techniques give a sufficient opportunity for procedural, chemical, operational or material based research and development.

The establishment of the Ce-Des technical pilot plant is funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) und administration by the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH, field of water technology and disposal.

The establishment of the Ce-Des organisational headquarters is funded by the Ministry for Innovation, Science, Research and Technology (MIWFT) under administration of the Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH / Projektträger ETN.

Ce-Des is an official member of German Water Partnership e.V.

Ce-Des would like to thank Babcock Borsig Service GmbH for their generous donation supporting the establishment of the Ce-Des organisational headquarters.
